Goslar – the living World Heritage Site in the Harz Mountains
The city of Goslar is located on the northwestern foothills of the Harz Mountains, which are clearly visible with the distinctive Rammelsberg mountain, popular with hang gliders. The river Oker and its tributary, the Gose or the Abzucht, flow through Goslar.
Goslar’s special atmosphere consists in the meeting of tradition, history and modernity.
The old town of Goslar has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Imposing structures and historic buildings make up the special flair of Goslar.
As popular destinations for excursions, the Grane- and the Okertalsperre are nearby. The Brocken in the Harz National Park can also be reached quickly via Bad Harzburg and Torfhaus. Hiking in the Harz Mountains and mountain biking are the most popular sports that the Harz Mountains have to offer.
